Pet Spider Monkeys are new world monkeys.  They live in South and Central America.  They are called Spider monkeys because of their long limbs and tails making them look like a spider.  Their Gestation is 5 ½ months and have only one offspring.  Usually Pet Spider Monkeys only have one baby every two years.   They are one of the only monkeys that have a true prehensile tail.  They weight about 28 lbs and grow to be 24in tall (butt to top of head).  They have no thumbs on their hands and look much taller than they are because of their long limbs and carrying their arms above their head when walking. Spiders are sexually mature at 6-7 yrs old. Their life span is 40 yrs.
